I purchased four Christmas themed boxes of Russell Stover assorted chocolates (2oz, 4 chocolates per a box) from my local Walgreens. Christmas themed "wrapping paper" encasing the standard Russell's box wrapped in plastic cellophane (Note: this is where the expiration date is stamped).

I've only tasted/sampled 3 chocolates from one box: 1) Milk chocolate with white chocolate lines with cream/caramel filling, 2) Milk chocolate with nuts (edges look like a pie crust or Reeces Peanut Butter Cup), and 3) Dark Chocolate coconut flavored cream fill. Each chocolate had a *very* distinct metallic/chemical taste like copper or iron and eerily similar to blood. I imagine the taste is similar to putting a handful of pennies, quarters, nickels and dimes in your mouth. Utterly awful.

Since these were "Christmas candies" and therefore on sale, I thought perhaps the expiration/sell by date had passed. Nope. Expiration date is July 1, 2017. I'm definitely going to write the company and the FDA.

And, folks, these chocolates were 90% off and only cost twenty cents ($0.20) each. Obviously purchase price is not an issue.

But, for me, it *is* a health concern. The taste is foul, pudgent and so chemically, I'm wondering "What the *** did I just ingest?" And I want answers.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

I do not want ads, just an answer. When I was growing up, Russell Stover was by far the best candy in the world.

Now, it tastes like all the other sub standard brands like Whitmans and Hershey. What on earth happened? The chocolate is not the same.. inferior!

You used to have those pastel colored creams that were heavenly.

now all you have is that dark chocolate stuff that isn't even quality chocolate. Where can I find the original candies from Russell Stover?

Hey Russell Stovers why don't you get your act together and get your employees their 40 hours. Working 2 days a week don't pay my bills and is to much to get unemployment.

This goes on way to long in the year. And at the end of the year you work your employees to death.

How about you get a year of 40 hours a week and balance it out. This shows you don't value your employees.
